Community & Press
For Chef Dave, catering has never been just a business — it's a way to give back. From two decades of partnership with the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce to feeding first responders and supporting downtown Martinez, community comes first.
Lafayette Chamber Partnership
Chef Dave has served as the exclusive Executive Chef for the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Breakfast for more than 20 consecutive years. This annual tradition brings together hundreds of Lafayette business leaders and community members each November, and Dave has been at the heart of it every single year.
"In all the years I have been doing this event (21), I have never heard so many compliments... The quality and amount of choices were wonderful."
Mayor's Breakfast
In 2011, Chef Dave partnered with the City of Pleasant Hill to cater the Mayor's Breakfast — a civic event that highlighted his deep roots in the Pleasant Hill community, where he has been a resident for over 30 years.
Taste of Lafayette
Chef Dave was a Featured Chef at the Taste of Lafayette, one of Lamorinda's premier outdoor food festivals. The event brings together the best local chefs and restaurants to celebrate the community's culinary scene, and Dave proudly represented Dave's Cuisines alongside the area's top establishments.
The Haute Stuff Story
In May 2019, Dave purchased Haute Stuff Cafe in downtown Martinez — a business he had worked with intermittently for 20 years under the original owners. When the pandemic hit in 2020, the shop was vandalized. The community rallied to help, but Dave refused donations, asking neighbors instead to support all downtown Martinez businesses — not just his own.
That moment captured who Dave is: a chef who puts community first, even when his own livelihood is at stake.
